AIR DRYING
At our wood terminal in Koper, we can dry the wood.
The wood is hung up and can slowly dry from four sides.
The best result can be achieved in the summer. In contrast, the wood can hardly dry in the winter, as the wood cannot be dried in suitable time at temperatures below 5°C. In the summer, the wood can dry within three weeks to a dampness content of 18–20%.
Please note that the drying of the wood causes additional costs, as the drying is not only time intensive and therefore incurs storage fees and interest, but also additional expensive packaging costs.
There are two ways of calculating the drying costs:
We charge:
- the cutting measure at a lower rate (green tally); or
- the dry measure at a higher rate (net tally).
In any event, the costs remain the same for you!
There is also another way of drying your wood: Chamber drying
